The British Broadcasting Corporation is one of the bastions of British culture, technology and advancement. It is still considered one of the world’s premier media companies and it has stood the test of time as well as being at the cutting edge of new technology and development. BBC job vacancies cover the world of entertainment, news, media and technology and this is one company that has made sure that they are leaders in the media marketplace. Working for the BBC is about having a career that will take you places you never imagined possible. A vibrant and dynamic company that is focussed entirely on the needs and desires of the customers. The mission of the BBC is to continually strive to higher levels of creativity and innovation in everything that they do.

One of the most trusted brands on the world, working for the BBC is one of the most sought after careers in the United Kingdom. Embodying the ethos of audience values as well as the drive to inform and educate the nation, the BBC’s message is not just restricted to England; the international division and international programming is of the highest standards. The BBC has recently instituted a vision that they call “Creative Future” which is their new structure and design for the next six years. At the core of the strategy is the drive to provide an even better service to their clients as well as develop more technology to keep pace with the recent trends to television on-demand. In order to turn this strategy into a working environment, they have made the choice to employ some of the most talented and creative people in the country. The BBC job vacancies are open for everyone and they have an equal opportunity employment strategy that makes sure that everyone is given the best possible chance to impress and make a difference within the organisation.

Making the choice to work for the BBC could be one of the most important decisions that you make in your life. The rewards for working for an organisation of this stature are numerous and they range from a sense of job satisfaction, to career planning and of course, financial reward. The basic benefits are an extremely competitive salary, which is on the high end of the scale for employers of this size, as well as an extremely generous leave allowance and leave pay, as well as having one of the best pension schemes in the country. The BBC recognises that people need the flexibility to manage their lives in the best possible way to ensure a smooth transition from home to work, and to this end, they have instituted flexible working hours as well as subsidised childcare for many of their working parents. All of this is part of the BBC commitment to the country and to the community.

The global brand that is the BBC today had rather more humble beginnings. It was started in 1922 with a staff of four who handled the integration of the radio services in England. Radio services were extremely popular throughout the 1920’s and 30’s and television was introduced in 1936, but was not used extensively until after the war had ended in 1945. The first major television triumph for the BBC was the coronation of the present monarch in 1953, with thousands of people buying television sets to watch the ceremony. Since then television in England has reached new levels all of the time. Despite competition from different competitors and on different fronts, the BBC has remained one of the most trusted and stable brands in England and across the world.

BBC job vacancies include many different types of jobs, the one common factor with all of the BBC job vacancies is the drive to ensure the continued success of the company by providing quality programming and maintaining their customer service excellence.

The recruitment process is an extensive one and has been designed to make the most of the mandate of the BBC to hire the brightest people around. If you think you have what it takes to carve a career for yourself in the BBC then you should be applying for one of the many BBC job vacancies that are available across the country on a regular basis. There is an interview as well as an assessment process and you will also have to complete a leadership questionnaire. The BBC is fully committed to further education and training and encourages all of their employees to keep themselves in the loop especially with technical advances and developments in the industry. Staff are rewarded for continuing education and training, and many tertiary courses are subsidised for deserving employees who wish to further themselves within the organisation.

BBC job vacancies exist for work experience and youth programmes; there are many young people who want to gain some work experience before embarking on a career in the world of media and television in particular. The BBC job vacancies concerning work experience placements attract up to 20 000 applications on an annual basis and the positions can last for a few days to a month depending on the type of job. These are unpaid positions and the fact that there are so many applications might give you an idea as to the popularity of this company as a premium employer in the United Kingdom.

You spot your dream job vacancy and smirk as you read down the desired experience list – until something pops up to truly wipe the smile off your face. One of the key areas of experience or expertise required is something that you just don’t possess. What to do? Well, they won’t know if you throw in a little white lie, will they?

It’s tempting, isn’t it? Unfortunately, it’s also a course of action that is likely to mean that you completely blow your chances of landing the job. By including misleading information on your CV, you’re providing your potential employer with the perfect opportunity to trip you up. If you say that you have extensive experience in a particular area, it’s going to come up in the interview. When it does, you’re going to have to blag your way through the relevant questions.

You might fancy yourself as somebody who can wing it through any situation but interviewers are looking precisely for any sign that a candidate is being untruthful. If you stumble at all – and the odds are that you will – it’s going to come off one of two ways: either it’ll be obvious that you’ve lied to the employer or you’ll just look like you’re unsure of yourself. Either way, you’re unlikely to get the job.

Even if you feel like the interview goes well and you’ve managed to pull the wool over the employer’s eyes, you can’t get too cocky. In this age of social media, it’s not hard for savvy employers to do a little research of their own above and beyond the information your supply on your CV. If something seems amiss from either your CV or interview, they’ll head to LinkedIn or similar sites and dig around to see what they can find. If any of the information you’ve given them conflicts with what they can find out about you with a little research, they’ll toss your application in the bin.

Even the best case scenario has its own issues; if you fool the interviewer and land the job, you’re going to be like a rabbit caught in the headlights once you start working for the company in question. It’ll quickly become apparent that you don’t know what you’re doing and you’ll likely be out of the door before your probation period is up.

If you haven’t got the picture yet, the message is simple. Don’t include misleading information in your CV. There’s really no need to; just because you don’t have a certain area of expertise, that doesn’t mean that an employer is going to ignore you if you have other strengths to bring to the role. Tailor your CV to the role in question and you’ll be halfway there – if you’re applying for insurance jobs, for instance, talk up relevant experience from pervious jobs that could be adapted to the roles you’re going after. Even if your previous jobs haven’t been in that sector there will be certain strengths that you can carry across – point them out and you’ll get the employer’s attention.

Probably one of the most interesting jobs in the world would be jobs in the aviation industry. In the UK, if you want to switch to a career there, you can always look for vacancies in airlines like easyJet. Deciding to find a job in an airline company as established as this will be the easy part for you. You have to be more specific with the area you want to work in. You can be part of the ground crew taking care of operations on the ground or you can be part of a group that works in the sky like a flight attendant or a pilot.

If you’re worried that you don’t have any kind of experience in aviation, if you have the right skills, you can easily pass through the screening process. With positions like cabin crew, you’ll be taught and trained for whatever it is you need to know and do. You don’t have to be working in a plane to get experience in relation to a job in the aviation industry. If you’re eyeing a position as a flight attendant for instance, you can always have an edge with getting experience in customer service.

Working as part of the crew in a popular restaurant, your experience there can easily be incorporated in the cabin crew position. Even at the airport, you’ll be dealing with a lot of people trying to go about their business, getting to their flights and so on. You’ll have the people skills you need from your experience in retail or food service. Even if you’re looking for a role behind the scenes in the aviation industry, there are also a lot of choices. You can get a position in corporate communications, IT or Finance. Whatever you’re looking for, the right job can be in the aviation industry.

Even if you’re not an expert in law, you can still benefit from taking a look at the legal career vacancies. In areas like England and Wales, many legal recruiters are out there looking for graduates in Theology, Medieval History, Nuclear Engineering and such to go into law. Aside from the opportunity of growth, positions in law also offer impressive financial rewards. One of the things you would need to complete would be a conversion course. In a year, you’ll be updated on legal knowledge that you can use for switching to a career in law.

There will be another year of vocational study for you if you want to be a barrister or a solicitor. In some cases, you can easily qualify as one to fill a law position with the law courses you have with your degree. For this particular case, you’ll be offered something like a training contract where even as you’re working for an established law firm and getting paid, they’ll also be financing your training and development in the field of law. If you’ve always dreamed about a career in law but you didn’t have the means for it before, this will be your chance to live the dream and successfully switch careers.

For what these law positions offer, you can infer that there will be a great deal of competition here. You have those who got the necessary training for a career in law and you have those, like you, who are non law graduates. The criteria can be pretty demanding but if you want the job enough, you can rise above the challenge and be the one to fill one of these coveted positions. In some way, it’s going to be like a test for your commitment and passion to get into the field of law.

Aside from positions like being a DJ or a radio announcer in the radio industry, there are many different positions that you can qualify for where you’ll not only be earning a good living but also doing something that you like. If you have the qualities of being dedicated, highly organized, independent but can work as a team member, and have excellent communication skills, you might be the one companies like Radio One and Elements of Life are looking for. At the moment, there are many different positions that are open in the radio industry but you can easily qualify for radio plugger.

For the most part, when you succeed in filling this position, a day in your life would consist of overseeing as well as coordinating artist interviews, attending play list meetings, preparing campaign reports, researching the schedules of DJs and producers in radio stations and more. Every day you spend as a radio plugger will be a great challenge but it will be challenges that you relish. Besides getting paid a nice salary, you’ll be meeting with many popular people and even extremely talented people you will take to fame. If you started with a relatively small network, you’ll greatly expand it in the midst of this job.

There are also other positions that are open in the radio industry, positions in the house press teams of Choice FM and Capital. If you think that you’re more suited to this particular position, you can get right down to the radio website and get the details about the vacancies. Before you know it, you will be on the path to earning a good salary and joining in the challenging and dynamic world of radio. The key is taking a look at the list of vacancies in the right places.
